The Laurentides grew fast, and that growth followed Highway 15. New residential neighbourhoods went up a few hundred metres from a route that runs at every hour, with heavy truck volume heading north.
Blainville and Sainte-Thérèse are the most exposed to that corridor. Saint-Jérôme, denser, adds urban traffic and a passing train line. Mirabel has something the others don't: its airport, now a cargo hub, whose flights are often concentrated at night.
Aircraft noise is the hardest to live with because it's unpredictable: there's no background hum to adapt to, only peaks that wake you. It's also rich in high frequencies as it passes — precisely the part our panels cut best.
Many Laurentides homes are recent and well insulated thermally, but their windows remain the acoustic weak point. Adding a panel costs roughly a third of a replacement, and improves thermal insulation at the same time.
