Our RBQ licence and the work it covers
Insonorix holds a contractor licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec. In practice, that means you're protected.
In Quebec, carrying out construction work for others requires a licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ). It isn't an administrative formality: to obtain one, a company has to demonstrate competence, integrity and solvency — and keep meeting those conditions.
For you, the licence is a protection. It means the contractor has been vetted, is held to guarantees, and that there's recourse if things go wrong. Hiring an unlicensed contractor means giving all of that up — and it's unfortunately common.
Our licence covers several specialised contractor categories. Each one corresponds to a specific type of work we're authorised to carry out: non-structural masonry, marble and ceramic; wood and plastic work; insulation, waterproofing, roofing and exterior cladding; doors and windows; finishing work; and machined cabinets and countertops, among others.
