How the soundproofing panels work

A clear acrylic panel, a PVC sub-frame and magnets: three simple parts that turn a noisy window into a quiet one.

Sound travels through air. When it hits your window it makes the glass vibrate, and that vibration carries through to the other side. It also leaks in through gaps in the frame, worn seals and the smallest opening around the edge. That is why a window — even a recent one — is the weak point of a wall.

Our panels tackle both problems at once. Each panel is cut to measure from a 5 to 6 mm sheet of acrylic, mounted on a PVC sub-frame that follows the exact outline of your opening. Once fitted, it leaves a still layer of air between itself and the glass.

That layer of air does most of the work. Sound has to cross the acrylic, then the air, then the glass — losing energy at every step. The trapped air acts like a cushion that absorbs and reflects the sound wave before it reaches the room.

How the soundproofing panels work

The PVC sub-frame plays two roles. It creates a thermal break between the panel and your existing frame, which limits cold transfer. And it carries the magnets that hold the panel against the opening, forming a continuous seal all the way around.

That seal is what makes the difference. A poorly fitted panel lets sound through the gaps; a panel fitted to the millimetre blocks it. This is exactly why we measure every opening ourselves instead of working from standard sizes.

The essentials

  • Clear 5 to 6 mm acrylic, cut to measure
  • PVC sub-frame that creates a thermal break
  • Sealed layer of air between glass and panel
  • Continuous magnetic seal all the way around
  • Lifts off by hand — no tools, no marks

Have other questions?

Can I still open the window?

Yes. The panel lifts off in one motion: pull it away, open the window, put it back. No tools, nothing complicated.

Is the panel visible?

Barely. The acrylic is clear and the sub-frame follows the line of your existing frame. Most visitors never notice it.

Why acrylic instead of glass?

Acrylic insulates up to six times better than ordinary glass, weighs less, and filters up to 99% of UV rays.
